Our featured product this month is our beautifully made and safe stable halters.I find myself reminiscing quite a bit around this feature product as it’s the first item I ever produced under the greatest harness making mentor of all time, my late father Sam.
When my dad taught me how to make a horse halter he subliminally placed manufacturing techniques in my head that I use every day in every facet of Harness and saddle making. Building the right sizes that fit an array of horse heads, allows for the horses' jaws to open and close effectively when they eat. To be comfortable and long lasting are the standards my father instilled into my production thinking process.
Making a halter is not unlike any other part of Harness. Direction and thickness of splice, buckle turn, finish of edges, proper adjustment and a smooth inside stitch on your horse's face are just a few reasons that make our halters a foundation product at Freedman’s.
Our halters are carefully triple stitched, the snap clip on throat latches are expertly hand rounded and all edges are stained, waxed and hand rubbed to a lovely finish. Materials that will last and are of quality is a cornerstone of this everyday Freedman's product. We strictly use the best Wickett and Craig of America English Bridle cow hide leather.
We have been working with this Canadian owned tannery since 1910! Solid brass buckles, snap clips, rings and squares on our brown halters and stainless steel of the same type of hardware on our black halters add to the overall strength and beauty of our halters.
Stitched at 7 stitches per inch with heavy duty bonded nylon thread and nylon reinforced at the buckle turns, we’re sure with our fit, quality and finish you will love them!
Oh and lastly, all our halters come with a personalized engraved name plate!
