What Inspired Us To Make This Bag:
The Char-de-Coté handbag was named after the Char-de-Coté carriage. It was regarded as the Swiss national carriage, but could also be found in France. A fantastic feature of this vehicle is the passenger seat which is built parallel to the road. Its advantage was the good view to one side. This idea was born out of necessity in the 19th century to enable tourists to visit the mountainous Jura of northern Switzerland where the roads were much narrower than flat parts.
The Char-de-Cote is our classic feed bucket bag. As a hand bag or off the shoulder, made from rich Italian vegetable tanned leather allows this bag to have structure contributing to its timeless styling. Then Char-de-Cote boast a deep compartment to allow you to carry all your necessities and maybe someone else’s as well! A rich red Jaquard lining keeps the inside bright so you can find items in the bottom. The classic statement in the Freedman feed bag look.
